I hate to be subjective but it has been a hell of a lot longer than 23 years since these guys left us. I was a new be at the time and Holtzman was my gunner. He trusted me as I did him. He had 17 days left in country and was getting the short timers syndrome. ( Wanting to go home). At the time Alverez was the Plt. Sgt. and told him it was a super safe mission. Just toting Donut Dollys asses allover. He was relunctant and i dont blame him but being the man he was he accepeted the mission. Never saw my gunner again. That Asshole Morrison was showing off low leveling along the river and came into a 90 degree turn and hit the water with the rotor blade. Mr. Morrison and Mr. Breedlove survived and after that hardly anyone would fly with Morrison, myself included. Mr. Breedlove came back to the states and became Hook qualified and returned. A very good pilot. This post hits a very soft spot in my heart.I will always rember those guys. Especialy my mentor. Ron Holtzman.
