=========================================

Civilian reporter Joe Galloway had just been put behind a .30 cal. machinegun in one of the corner bunkers at Plei Me by the SF camp commmander, the legendary Charlie Beckwith. Joe had hitched a ride into the camp with 119th AC Ray Burns on an ammo resupply mission. He was just a couple of weeks away from hitching a ride into LZ X-Ray on a Cav Huey.
