Gene-thats where I was-that bunker was right in front of the watertower next to 1st flt's hootch.I had the 1st cot on right inside that end-went in-after lights and generator was killed to get more mags/weapons/etc. and was fumbling around in the total dark hootch-and dawned on me-where was everyone else/ Thought I was totally screwed if everyone head left the AO-and now the sappers were going to start running thru the hootchs- tossing sactaels !! I di-di'd out of there to that bunker pronto.Carl's right about the barber and the Tet '68 event. that was still a great "and this is no s**t" story when I got to the 119th in '69. We never touched one of those sappers-got away clean.Mix
