no sympathy required, Mike-
after almost ten years in Germany, (over six in Bavaria) a winter in Chicago, one in Seoul, Christmas 400 miles north of Toronto, and 24 years here, I'm accustomed, but not liking it..
nevertheless, I got 14 inches atop my mailbox, 19 on the sidewalk from the porch to the street, and neither of these places are "drifts".
another 6 or 8 hours of this stuff to go, per the forecasts. Later, winds up to 40 mph.
local news this a.m. said two inches per hour.
That would equate to about 56 inches so far, but that's just not happened. It took about four hours before ANY was even sticking on the streets and sidewalks.
our neighborhood has narrow streets, cars parked on both sides, and so far today, I've seen one neighbor's Jeep go by, and one snowplow, the blade of which was not down and runnin'.
sigh. running beer-short. shame on me.
diggin' out more now. .. just to get ahead of it a bit.
