The article in todays paper is interesting.It says the military is using more and more drone aircraft in Iraq and Afgan. The story about the killing of Al-qaeda leader goes like this-Predator crews spent hundreds of hours searching for Zarqawi,finaly tracking him to a farm NE of Bagdad.An f-16 dropped the laser guided 500lb bomb and boom.The f-16 pilot was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross (same award that Charles Lindberg got for flying across the Atlantic solo.The drone pilots received a thank you note. In Vietnam, the technology and equipment used was suited for the job.Could not have done any better, even had we used todays stuff.Maybe the GPS would have made things a little easier. or the drones could have been used for snoopy missions...
