Nah, it was just a mistake, Paul. There was another Eugene Carroll who passed away and word got passed from one guy to another, caused some confusion, you know how that goes. Honest error. Nice to know Gene is okay, though.

We're checking on word that Basile Dolbejeff may have died in Salt Lake City several years ago. I corresponded with an old friend of his who knew him in high school, who said to me, "Basile was too damned mean to just die. Guy like him, somebody must have killed him." Same could apply to a lot of the characters who hang around here.
