Reunion Travel

A good guy named CW4 Larry Castagneto (Ret.) ran a reunion for the 13th CABn at Rucker a couple of years ago. He won't mind me re-posting his hints for air travel to the area:

Flight / Travel Info

As it is well known it is very expensive to fly into Dothan the the only way is thru Atlanta. The round trip charge for a 40 minute flight from Atlanta to Dothan is near $400.
There are other options that will save you money if you wish to use them.
Remember if you fly out of Atlanta there will more than likely be at least a hour or two wait if not more for the flight to depart Atlanta to Dothan.
You might consider flying to another airport getting a rental car and driving to Dothan Fort Rucker Area. You will more than likely arrive at or about the same time, and it will cost you much less especially if you are not traveling alone.
OPTIONS: Fly into and Drive
1. Atlanta drive to Fort Rucker 3.4 Hr Drive
2. Panama City Fl. (Southwest Airline) 1.5 Hr Drive
3. Fort Walton Fl. (Vision Air has great rates) 1.8 Hr Drive
4. Columbus Ga. 1.5 Hr Drive
5. Montgomery Al. 1.5 Hr Drive
6. Tallahassee Fl. 2 Hr Drive
7. Birmingham Al. 2.8 Hr Drive (great rates direct flight to most major cities)
Note: I usually fly out of either Birmingham or Panama City when I travel really not that more demanding or intrusive, and I save a lot.

Looks like Southwest may have some good potential for getting in and out of the area.
