: Got word today that the first CO of the 119th
: plans to attend the reunion in Atlanta. Back
: then he was Major Martin now he is retired
: Col.

: Doc, this should give you some additional info
: on the early years.

: OK guys if you have not as yet made plans for
: Atlanta its time to get in gear the days are
: counting down. With each new name on the
: list it seems to spark the interest of
: another 81st or 119th person.

Yikes. Major Martin was the CO from March to September 1963, and he oversaw the transition of the company from the 81st Trans to the 119th; CH-21 helicopters to UH-1 helicopters. I cannot tell you how good it will be to get that story right from the horse's mouth.

Guys, if you are even considering coming... this is the year. It may never come together like this one again. Also, I can really use the help on this book, I need first-person accounts of what really happened and when. Anyone who may be able to help me out, I would really appreciate anything you can tell me.

Harry Fisher has been such a huge help on this. For any of you guys who have not met Harry, he arrived in Vietnam on the first boat in 1962, and his first "control tower" in Pleiku was a lawn chair on top of a Conex container with a PRC-25 next to the chair... If getting to Atlanta just to talk with Harry doesn't get you, I doubt you can be "got." C'mon, it'll be fun.

I yam (almost) speechless.
